TONY BUZAN
MR. TONY BUZAN is the Chairman of The Brain Foundation, Founder of The Brain Trust, the originator of Mind Maps, and the creator of the concept of Mental Literacy. He is a past Editor of the International Journal of MENSA and is also the holder of the world's highest "creativity IQ." He has published 15 books including Use Your Head, Use Your Memory, Make the Most of Your Mind, and Speed Reading, which have now been published in 50 countries and translated into 20 languages. Use Your Head has surpassed worldwide sales of a million copies, and is a standard introductory text for staff training within IBM, General Motors, EDS, Fluor Daniel, Digital Equipment, and for students of the Open University. He is advisor to British government departments and multinational organizations, including BP, Barclays International, Digital Equipment Co., Electronic Data Systems, Hewlett-Packard, and IBM, and is a regular lecturer at leading international universities. His latest work, The Mind Map Book: Radiant Thinking, was nominated as the BBC's Book of the Year. Mr. Buzan has become an international media personality featuring in, presenting and co-producing many satellite broadcasts, television, video and radio programs, both national and international, including the record-breaking Use Your Head series (BBC TV); the Open Mind series (ITV); The Enchanted Loom - a one-hour feature documentary on the brain; and numerous talk shows. His two latest videos are Mind Power, distributed by the BBC, which teaches the concepts of Mind Mapping principally for business use and which recently won the top award at the IVCA Festival, and Get Ahead, a one hour video presented with Lana Israel. He is Co-Founder of the Memoriad, the World Memory Championships, and of the Mind Sports Olympiad. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Training and Development and is an elected member of the International Council of Psychologists. He is a Member of the Institute of Directors, a Freeman of the City of London, and is also a Patron of the Young Entrepreneurs' Societies of both Cambridge and Bristol Universities. Adding to his list of honours, including the Young Presidents' Organisation Leadership Award and Distinguished Faculty award by the Institute for Management Studies, was his recognition by EDS with the Eagle Catcher Award - given to those who attempt the impossible and achieve it!
