About This Session
IMS 2025 Leadership Excellent Award winner Burns & McDonnell is a multinational construction, architecture and engineering firm based in Kansas City, Missouri. Established in 1898, the company has grown to be one of the largest design firms in the world and employs over 13,500 professionals worldwide. The talent development team is responsible for ensuring a consistent pipeline of quality leaders to support the firms' continued success. This IMS best practice presentation will cover how Burns & McDonnell has developed a multi-tiered development strategy to provide targeted development opportunities to leaders as they progress in their career.
Dr. Cynthia Nebel will also be speaking on how learning science can transform every stage of the talent lifecycle, from hiring and onboarding to development and retention. Cynthia's presentation offers practical, evidence-based strategies to help talent leaders build smarter systems, stronger teams, and more engaging employee experiences.

Cindy Nebel (formerly Cindy Wooldridge) is the Director of Learning Services at Saint Louis University School of Medicine. She resides in St. Louis, MO and joined the Learning Scientists team in 2016.
